Training and Development of Library Personnel
The System conducts informal training programs to show member library personnel new techniques, services, resources and
products they can use in their libraries. The program is conducted through printed media, group instruction, and individual
guidance.
Workshops and demonstrations are organized dealing with various services of the System. Besides library personnel, trustees,
committee members or others concerned with the topic may attend. An "open door" policy permits those outside the public
library structure such as school libraries, teachers, trustees of unchartered libraries and human services professionals to receive
the System's printed materials and attend System worshops. A special effort is underway to familiarize and train each and every
member librarian in the applications of computerization to various public and in-house activities and services.
