| Clymer | Clymer has no specific charge - we just have a small box on the counter with a notice that we'd appreciate a donation if they are overdue. It works quite well for us - people usually give between $1 and $10. (And of course we have those that are persistently overdue and never offer a penny!) |

don't rewind. Initially rewinding was a problem, but after we strictly
enforced and put a reminder on the VHS loaned, the situation hardly arises. Usually the first group of fines never amount to more than $2.00. Most VHS/DVD fines are paid before they reach more than $3.00. Once or twice a year someone gets a fine for VHS/DVD over $5.00 and then we ask them to make a donation. There is no plan to increase these. Our system works and we have few lost books. |

We charge $2 a day for videotapes and DVDs. We believe that since our collection is small (relatively speaking), the daily fine should encourage people to bring them back on time. Feature videos circulate for three days, while documentaries go out for a week. [Inglewood/Los Angeles, CA] |
| We don't charge fines. We do have "express books"
