How & When we got
started:
Oliver W. Norton presented to the Minerva Free Library the building
and lot that it is situated on, January 1, 1909. The Library was
first organized by the Minerva Club in May 1907. Minerva Free
Library has a collection of over 10,000 materials available for
patrons use and enjoyment. Our collection consists of books, audio
books, magazines and videos for diversified age and interests. We
also have available four public computers for patrons use.
Our Mission Statement:
Our Library Board believes it is essential to provide materials and
services which will help community residents obtain information
meeting their personal, educational and professional needs. The
library will serve as center for learning and enrichment for all
residents of the community, regardless of age level. The collections
will reflect broad subject coverage with materials acquired in a
variety of formats, with access to informational technologies. In
addition, the library will serve as an entry point for other roles
not emphasized. We encourage and seek community involvement and
service.
