HISTORY

 

1910     The Dow Private Library was started with 1,474 books. The first year’s circulation was 9,904.

 

1917     The Dow Private Library was given to the Village of Randolph and renamed

            the Randolph Free Library.

 

1919  Randolph Free Library received its charter from New York State as a

Public library.

 

      1949  On October 8th at 2:00 pm , the current library building opened. Funds were                    

                 provided by the Foy Trust. 

 

      1955 The Snover Room was added to the library.

 

      1964 The Randolph Free Library became a member of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus

                 Library System.

 

     2007 A two story addition was completed.
