Public Relations

The public relations program is really one of public education, carried out by System personnel and member libraries. The aim is to increase public awareness of the library -- its value to the community and its usefulness to the individual. The System and its member libraries promote library activities via newspaper, radio and television releases, talks to community groups, participation in area fairs, exhibits and programs.

In addition, signs for member libraries are produced by the System. Signs for special exhibits, services, and occasions are available to member libraries on request. The System Newsletter includes System events, statistics and news of member libraries.
