ABOUT THE PROJECT:
"Computer Connections" is a two year project designed to enable persons with vision and/or hearing loss to access the resources available through computers and computer classes at the co-central libraries of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System.
Three computer workstations at the James Prendergast Library in Jamestown, NY are set up with 19" screens and ZOOMTEXT assistive software that magnifies and reads out computer text. Two comparable stations are also available at the Olean Public Library.
WILLIAMS SOUND SYSTEM POCKETALKERS for in-library use at both libraries. These personal communication devices facilitate conversations and instruction between persons with limited hearing and library staff.
A Williams Sound Tour Guide Hearing Assistance System may be used for group training and library programs.
