Manufactured by the Williams Sound Corporation, the Assistive Listening Products (ALP's) we have available are special amplification systems designed for use in a variety of everyday listening situations when it is important to improve the signal-to-noise ratio for the listener. ALP's allow the listener to place a microphone close to a desired sound source and magnify this sound in relation to background noises. Patrons have found the following items very useful:
THE POCKETALKER: FOR PERSONAL USE.
A Pocketalker System consists of a microphone, amplifier and an earphone. With excellent sound quality, this small, light-weight unit allows personal conversations to remain private, even in noisy situations such as riding in a car, listening in a restaurant, conversing in small groups or conducting business in a public environment. Powered by a single 9 volt battery, it is completely portable.
When the microphone is attached to the extension cord that comes as a part of the personal listening kit and placed near the television sound source, the TV can be set at normal volume and the sound amplified through the Pocketalker receiver. A number of users have reported that their marriages were saved by this feature!
Any organization whose membership includes people who have difficulty hearing what is said during meetings and cannot bnefit from special programs may request to borrow this expanded system. It can be set up quickly and easily and is portable in its briefcase-size carrying case. This system consists of an amplifier/microphone to be placed near the principle speaker and up to 10 personal receivers with mini earpnones to be held by those in the audience who wish to use them.
NOTE: All Williams Sound Assistive Listening Systems may be also be used with a personal hearing aid that has a telecoil (T-Coil) or direct audio imput. Ask for a Neckloop Telecoil Coupler. The Neckloop is worn around the neck like a lanyard and plugs into the Pocketalker or Personal FM Receiver "EAR" jack.
