Tuesday, July 7: Mike Randall

We enjoyed multi-talented Mike Randall and his puppet friends at this comical event of magic
and ventriloquism, including lots of audience participation!

Tuesday, July 14: Wild Spirit Education

We learned all about owls as three live owls were brought into the library by a naturalist
from Wild Spirit Education.

Tuesday, July 21: Charlie and Checkers

Charlie and Checkers showed us how to be “safety heroes” in our homes.
Along with fire safety tips, we experienced the fun comedy magic of “Trixie” the live rabbit,
juggling, HUGE magic wands, and Checker’s famous giant balloon!
The Mayor of Lakewood was on hand too!

Tuesday, July 28: Lakewood Fire Department

We learned about real life heroes our very own Lakewood Fire Department brought
their fire engine and doned their fire gear!
We finished with a pizza party provided by Pizza Hut!

We would like to thank the following organizations for their support of our Summer Reading Program:
Chautauqua Region Community Foundation Blossom Fund, Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System, Lakewood Fire Department, Pizza Hut’s Raising Dough for Kids organization, and Women’s Club of Lakewood. Free reading incentives were supplied by Applebee’s, Burger King, McDonald’s, Tim Hortons and Wendy’s.
