Kennedy Pride is a newly formed
organization.  The group's mission is to have
"A Community group  dedicated to instilling
pride through the beautification  and restoration
                                                 of the Kennedy area".

The Kennedy Pride Group has installed about 150 American flags; most are in
the memory of a loved one.  They are a proud sight from Memorial Day thru
Sept. 11th every year.  If you would like a flag placed in the honor or memory
of a loved one, Please contact Linda Bish at the library   267-4265
The cost is $25.00 per flag.

The other pride we took in the year 2003 was the installment of the "Welcome
to Kennedy" signs.  Shawn Tibbetts of Fire Dancer made and installed each sign.
Each sign depicts a piece of the history of Kennedy.

The first sign of the Walrod Home in Clarks Corner is on South Rt 62 on Basil
Bunce's property near Grubb Hill Rd.

The  second sign is of the Old Eagle Tavern that was part of Main St. Kennedy,
and is located on Hallquist Park property on Rt. 394.

                                      Sign #1                                   Sign #2                                  Sign #3

Kennedy Pride cards are available at the library.  'Kennedy, a great place to
Visit'...'A Wonderful Place to Live'...There are 11 different scenes of the area
around Kennedy to choose from.   These make great gift cards or to send to a
relative if you visit here.   The cards are only $1.00 a piece.  Same as a post-card!
Cathy Kimball of 2nd Look Graphic Design  created these beautiful cards.

                                                                      Our Goal...Our Future

The above picture is of the proposed site of the Merle Hallquist Park.
The children of the Town of Poland's summer Recreation has dedicated this park
to Merle Hallquist Town of Poland's Highway Superintendent.
The children have planted flowers every year for the past 2 years. and this summer,
they will put in a Herb garden.  The community will be able to go see the labeled
herbs and pick some if they want.
Through the efforts of Kennedy Pride, Recreation,  and  the Town, we hope to
renovate the area. In the plans are a legal size Basket-Ball
Court, Picnic tables, and charcoal grills so you can play basket-ball and have a
                          picnic with your family.

The basket-ball court has now been installed.  Come down and play a game of
basket-ball with a friend or two!
