Children expand their horizons when they travel. Of course, many children cannot travel far away to New Zealand or China or Brazil to learn about the varied world we live in. Some children will not even travel beyond their home state to discover what they might have in common and how they differ from other people and places around the world. But they can expand their horizons while reading about other lands; listening to others who have traveled or lived elsewhere; and enjoying the music, dance, games, and stories of other cultures.
