Introduction to Cartooning Workshop, with Tim Corrigan
Held Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at the Library.

Tim Corrigan is no stranger to the world of comics. He began drawing comics as a child, and later began contributing his own comics and illustrations to fan magazines. Mr. Corrigan began self-publishing a number of comics in the late 1970's and distributed them through the mail with other comic artists. He began publishing Small Press Comics Explosion in the 1980's as a way to bring people creating and marketing their own comics together. The magazine helped him to win a Lifetime achievement Award in 2005 at the Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo. His latest creation, Allegheny Man, made its local debut this year. The weekly story line of Allegheny Man, "rural America's green hero," follows high school history teacher Jason Hunter who is destined to protect the environment with powers bestowed to him by an ancient Indian spirit.
