How can I order a book using the Interlibrary Loan System?

If you are a library member and we do not have a book you are looking for, the Gowanda Free Libray staff will be glad to help you in borrowing the book from one of our sister libraries. This can be done in one of two ways:

Either call us at 532-3451, and ask a staff member to search for a particular book in the ILL system. Please have the book title and author available if possible. Make sure to give the staff member your name and phone number so you can be contacted when the book is delivered to the library.

OR

You can search the system yourself, using the online Presto database. This option is useful if you do not know the specific book you are looking for, such as in a case when you want a book on a particular subject or by a particular author, but don't have a specific title. The steps for searching the ILL Presto database are as follows:

1. Click the following icon, which will take you to the Presto database:

2. Use the sites search features to locate the book you would like to borrow.

3. Write down the title and author of the book.

4. Call the Gowanda Free Library at 532-3451 and give the title and author of the book to a staff member. Be sure to give your name and phone number so you can be contacted when the book is delivered.
