Library Policies

GETTING A LIBRARY CARD

ADULTS: The circulation desk upstairs issues free library cards to adults who present one form of identification with current address such as a driver’s license, utility bill, or a non-driver ID.

STUDENTS GRADE 6 AND UP: The circulation desk upstairs issues free library cards to students who present one form of identification such as a school ID card or recent report card with a current address.

CHILDREN: Parents of children from toddler through 5th grade may sign up their children for their own library card if the parents are cardholders in good standing with the library.

Children who are new card holders may take out 2 books for the first check out, then 7 books at a time after that.

BOOKS MOVIES
  • Adults – 10 books
  • Youth – 5 books
  • 14 day loan
  • Reserves accepted
  • Renewals by phone accepted
  • Overdues .10 per day each
  • Limited to 3 books on one topic
  • Overdue cost for children's books: 5 cents per day each with a maximum fine of $1.00
  • Lost or destroyed books must be paid for to keep accounts in good standing.
  • 18 years old
  • 7 day loan only
  • $1.50 per day on each overdue movie
  • Total movies 3 per household
  • For new card holders 1 movie for the first month And after that 3 per household
  • No renewals on movies
MAGAZINES
AUDIO BOOKS
  • New magazines ( 6 months old) 5 per person
  • Old magazines (over 6 months) 10 per person
  • Total of 10 magazines per checkout
  • 14 day loan
  • No renewals on new magazines
  • Overdues .10 per day each
  • 2 per patron
  • 14 day loan
  • Renewals accepted
  • Reserves accepted
  • Overdues .10 per day each
COMPUTERS

WHO MAY USE:

  • Students Grade 6 to Adult.
  • Patron must have a library card in good standing.
  • Patron must have a signed computer use policy card on file.
  • Parents who wish to use the computer must find care for their young children.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

  • Patrons must sign up in person.
  • We are not able to guarantee availability of specific computers.

TIME OF USE:

  • One hour time slots are available
  • After one hour, patrons may ask for additional time if space is available.
  • 3 Hours is the maximum amount of time available daily.

PRINTING:

  • The cost to print is 10¢ per black & white page and 50¢ per color page.
  • Users are responsible for all pages printed.
  • Printed pages MUST be paid for as copies are picked up.

RULES:

  • One person may use a computer at a time.
  • At no time are patrons allowed to:
    • Copy software
    • Place software on the hard drive
    • Leave files on the hard drive
  • No cell phone use.
  • Users must respect other users' privacy.
  • It is not acceptable to use the Library's electronic resources for illegal or criminal use.
  • Use of computers to display or disseminate obscene or pornographic material in the Library is prohibited.
  • Do not turn off library computers.
  • Do not make changes to any settings.
  • Do not clear browser history.
  • Users must respect the legal protection provided by copyright and license to programs and data.
  • Violation of the rules for computer use may result in the loss of computer privileges.
  • No food or beverages permitted at the computers.

Peripheral Devices

  • To listen to audio patrons MUST bring their own headphones.
  • Users may not connect any peripheral devices that could compromise the integrity of the lab computers and/or network.
  • MP3 players / iPods: Patrons may connect their personal media devices to the lab computers. HOWEVER, All content such as, but not limited to: MP3's, Movies, Videos, and other data must be obtained through proper legal procedures if copywrited.

Piracy:

  • Any patron that downloads or accesses any copywrited material such as movies, songs, software, ect. will be permanently banned from computer use.
