The Children's Room at the Dunkirk Library has been called home by a variety of animals over the years.
The three animals shown below are proud to call the Dunkirk Free Library home.
Torro is a male Russian tortoise who is about 35 years old.
He likes to eat diced lettuce, carrots,
and apples.
He hibernates for the winter months,
sleeping in his box.
You may not see him awake
until spring!
He has lived at the library for as
long as 20 years, if not his full 35 years.
Dr. Pepper is a male cockatiel.
He was donated
to the children's room from
the humane society
He sometimes whistles,
and says "pretty, pretty"
if you talk or whistle
to him.
Sunflower seeds are his favorite food!
