The National Book Award is an American literary prize given to writers by writers and administered by the National Book Foundation, a nonprofit organization.  In order to be eligible for the Award, a book must be written by an American citizen and published by an American publisher between December 1 of the previous year and November 30 of the current year.  The Award winner will be announced at a ceremony in mid-November.
